Kai Sotto to be at the 24th Pick by the Golden State Warriors at the 2021 NBA Draft:
Yet another FIlipino is about to make the Philippines proud!
After Efren “Bata” Reyes and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao made names across the globe, yet another athlete is about to make Filipinos proud. Kai Sotto, 7-foot-2 17-year old Filipino basketball phenomenon, who has spent months in the United States working on trying to become an NBA player, is closest ever to fulfilling his dream. Apparently, the young teen is projected to be at the 24th pick by the Golden State Warriors in 2021 NBA Draft according to different sites such as Draftsite and NBA Draft Room.
“Exceptionally tall and thin, Sotto is an intriguing prospect who comes from good basketball bloodlines (father Ervin Sotto). He’s been focused on basketball all is life and it shows in his skill level,” NBA Draft Room’s article said.
“Kai has a long ways to go to be NBA ready but he’s someone to keep an eye on over the next few years as he continues to grow, fills out his frame and develops his skill set. He’ll have to develop his lower body strength and work on his agility and foot-speed to have a chance,” they added.
“At this stage his great height along with his skill level is impressive and he show’s some flashes of NBA level talent.”
From being MVP in the UAAP Season 81 Juniors Division, Kai has began thriving in the international stage by representing the Philippines in several FIBA outings. Today, Kai is about to step into a bigger stage as he is now being recognized as a highly-skilled basketball player.
